Nigerian students have reacted to the delay by the Academic Staff of Universities, ASUU, and the federal government to reach a truce in its ongoing dialogue.
The union had said it is ready to call off its lingering strike if the federal government signs the University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) as the payment platform of lecturers.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the meeting is currently ongoing in Abuja as is being presided by the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari.
The meeting, which started on Tuesday afternoon is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report by 21:40pm.
Some students have taken to their social media handles to express their fear over what the outcome of the meeting will be.
While some said they can’t wait for the strike to be called off, others are of the opinion that ASUU can still extend it by two more weeks to enable them settle.
