Students protest over killings of IDPs in Benue

Two students union bodies; the West African Students Union (WASU) and the National Union of Benue State Students (NUBESS), on Thursday, protested the brutal Killings of seven Persons at Abegena IDPs Camp in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.

The Students are demanding the government of Nigeria to end insecurity in Benue State. “Stop the blood shed and reckless killings” one of their placard reads.

The groups who were led by Comr. Romans Pillah, the President of West African Students Union, blocked major roads in Makurdi town.

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom had alleged that suspected Fulani Herdsmen attacked an IDPs Camp Killing scores and many others injured.

The governor had called on President Buhari to speak up and address the incessant Killings in the state accusing him of being complicit.
