SUBEB: Rev. Aper, Kusah, Ahubi, Ahua charge contractors to carry out quality jobs, ensure timely completion (Photos)

Contractors handling various projects for the years 2016,2017 and 2018 UBEC/SUBEB intervention Funds with Benue State Universal Basic Education Board have been charged to carry out Quality job and ensure timely completion.

Executive Chairman state Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB Rev. Emmanuel Aper gave the charge Wednesday when he led other management staff of SUBEB to monitor ongoing projects within Makurdi said those who performed below standard will be given a second chance to correct their mistakes and if they fail to do so will have their contractual agreement revoked.

Rev. Aper who expressed dismay over the untidy Environment in most schools visited directed heads of primary schools to ensure that their environments are kept clean at all times and particularly directed the head teacher of LGEA primary school Wurukum to stop those who dump refuse in front of the school.

Speaking when the team visited Arabic primary school and LGEA Central , Christ African church Nursery and primary school both in Wadata Permanent member 1 of the Board Hon. Mike Kusah who lamented the poor drainage system within the school charged the contractor handling the renovation work to correct all lapses noticed before handing it over to Government.

On his part, Permanent Member 2 Hon. Egli Ahubi stated that the new board will not tolerate any contractor that is out to frustrate the efforts of Governor Samuel Ortom in giving public schools befitting face lift to the benefit of the Benue Child.

Permanent Member 3 Mr James Ahua also said the monitoring team would be strengthened to ensure that contractors carry out their jobs according to specification and advised contractors to emulate HAAC Ajaero whose work noted by the team has met specification.

Speaking on behalf of contractors, Albert Ajaero of Haac Ajaero Nig. Ltd.Athanasaus Kyousu of Kyabiz Construction. and Timothy lorunbu of Sheck Bright Company promised that contractors would execute their jobs according to specification and called on others whose jobs have issues to address them.

Some Head Teachers, Chiahemba of LGEA Central, Mrs Juliana Shimaeger of LGEA Demekpe, Regina Agbadu of UBE Junior Secondary School kua ànd their counterpart from NKST kua Comfort Nevekaa promised to keep their environments clean and make judicious use of the facilities provided by Government.

The SUBEB boss and his team also visited SUBEB Zonal Office Makurdi located at Daniel Amokachi lane and Ministry of Energy Science and Technology where over 35 thousand sets of plastic chairs and desks procured to be distributed to Basic Schools across the state were kept.
