Suffering and smiling: Nigeria makes list of Top Happiest Countries despite hardship

Negative reactions have trail the listing of Nigeria among the ‘Top 10 Happiest Countries’ in Africa.

Nigeria was named the second happiest country in Africa behind Mauritius by the World Happiness Report 2021.

But citizens of the West African nation protested on social media that the country is in hardship, reception, police brutality, bad governance, hunger, poverty etc and so should not truly be on such list.

The World Happiness Report 2021 named its Africa’s Top 10 Happiest Countries as folow;

1. Mauritius 🇲🇺

2. Nigeria 🇳🇬

3. Ghana 🇬🇭

4. Côte d’Ivouire 🇨🇮

5. Cameroon 🇨🇲

6. South Africa 🇿🇦

7. Zambia 🇿🇲

8. Morocco 🇲🇦

9. Tunisia 🇹🇳

10. Uganda 🇺🇬

Kicking against the list, Nigerians argued that it would have make sense it the list was “Top 10 from behind”.
