Ahmed Musa, the talented winger for the Nigerian national football team, has earned widespread admiration and appreciation from fellow Nigerians after he announced a significant reduction in the petrol price at his own filling station.
Following the recent announcement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) about the increase in petrol pump prices to N617 per litre, Musa took it upon himself to alleviate the burden on the public. He made the announcement through his verified Twitter page, declaring that petrol at his filling station, MYCA-7 Filling Station in Kano, would be sold at the reduced price of ₦580 per litre.
The news instantly sparked excitement and gratitude among Nigerians, who were relieved by the considerate gesture of the football star. Twitter users flooded Musa’s post with messages of appreciation and inquiries about the decision. One user, Scala (@lakaas123), questioned how the reduced price was possible in Kano and not in Lagos, to which Musa responded, “That is what me I decide to sell my own 🤷♂️.”
Ahmed Musa’s generosity is not a one-time occurrence. In 2018, he demonstrated his commitment to supporting his community by purchasing a filling station. He was even pictured personally filling up a tricycle as a show of his hands-on approach to the business.
Beyond his investments in the fuel sector, Musa has also shown his dedication to sports and fitness development in Nigeria. He owns a sports and fitness center that includes all-weather football pitches in the northern region of the country.
