Super Eagles return to Nigeria after harrowing Libya experience

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have returned home after a challenging experience in Libya.

The players, along with their officials, touched down at Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday night.

Their return followed a prolonged delay at Al Abaq Airport in Libya, where the team was stranded for several hours after arriving on Sunday.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) decided to withdraw from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) matchday four qualifying match due to the inhumane treatment the team endured in Libya.

The game, originally scheduled to take place in Benina on Tuesday, has been called off as a result.
