Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to face the Warriors of Zimbabwe in a pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying showdown, with both sides desperate for three points to revive their qualification hopes.
The Super Eagles come into the match riding high after a solid 2-0 away win over Rwanda, with Victor Osimhen netting both goals. The win lifted Nigeria to six points from five games, though they still trail Group C rivals Rwanda, Benin Republic, and South Africa.
Zimbabwe, bottom of the group with three points, earned a 2-2 draw at home against Benin Republic in their last outing. After the match, they traveled to Lagos and then Uyo, where Tuesday’s game will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The first-leg clash on November 19, 2023, finished 1-1, with Zimbabwe’s Walter Musona scoring a stunning free-kick before Kelechi Iheanacho equalized from the spot. Now under new head coach Eric Chelle, Nigeria aims to deliver a stronger performance and secure a vital win at home.
