Super Falcons lose 69.33 points in latest FIFA rankings – maintains No 1 in Africa

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are the biggest points losers in August FIFA Women’s ranking for 2022.

According to the publication on FIFA’s website, Super Falcons are now the 46th best team in the world. This is on the back of the Falcons’ recent outing at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco last month, July.

Nigeria played six games at the recently concluded WAFCON, winning three (Burundi, Botswana, Cameroon) and losing three (South Africa, Morocco, Zambia).

For the first time in the WAFCON’s history, Nigeria finished fourth in the tournament. A third-place defeat to Zambia which succeeded in a semi-final defeat to Morocco meant the nine-time African champions left the North African nation without a medal.
