Super League: UEFA to ban Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus from Champions League

UEFA will reportedly ban European giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus for not pulling out the Super League.

The European governing body and FIFA will open disciplinary producing against the three clubs who are yet to pull out of the league.

Italian news outlet La Repubblica, teams will be handed huge fines and banned from participating in the prestigious Champions League tournament.

Nine teams who were involved in the Super League pulled after including six Premier League sides will pay a fine of £12.9m to FIFA which will be distributed to grassroots football. Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed that the club will not apologize to UEFA and will not bow to the pressure of being banned and promises report the case to the Court of Arbitration.

“I told [UEFA president Aleksander] Ceferin that we do not plan to apologise for thinking [about another competition]. We don’t plan to pay a fine. “If we are sanctioned, we will go to CAS [the Court of Arbitration for Sport]. A precautionary measure was obtained to allow us to organise competitions. Because of the abandonment of clubs due to pressure from governments, countries and UEFA, that no longer exists,” Laporta was quoted by Marca as saying.

“We want to have dialogue. With UEFA, yes, but it’s a global problem. If we are sanctioned, we are not going to stand still. There is CAS and the ordinary courts. All the clubs in the world are in debt and there are others in the world of football who are getting richer.”
