No fewer than four persons were killed Sunday afternoon when gunmen numbering about 30 on motorcycles invaded Jauro Manu Market in Gassol Local Government Area and opened fire on traders.
It was learnt they also abducted six persons as traders abandoned their wares and fled into a nearby bush.

A resident, Umar Tasiu told Daily Trust that the Sunday attack was the third on the town, which had led to the death of 12 persons.
In another attack, no fewer than 14 travellers were reportedly abducted by bandits along Mutumbiyu-Wukari Road on Sunday at Benbel in the same Gassol LG at about 2pm. It was learnt that the bandits operating on motorcycles blocked the highway at Benbel village, abducted some travellers and looted their property. Four vehicles including a truck were left at the scene of the incident.
A brother of the abducted truck driver told Daily Trust that the kidnappers had called and demanded a N30 million ransom. The police spokeswoman in Taraba, DSP Kwache Bajabu Gambo, confirmed the incidents.
She said an investigation was ongoing and that the road blocked by the bandits had been cleared and motorists had started plying the road.
