Teenage sisters kidnapped in Abuja’s Bwari Area Council
Suspected bandits have kidnapped two teenage sisters from the Guita community in Chikakore, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This incident comes just eight days after members of Chikakore village staged a demonstration outside the office of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, citing the poor condition of the main route connecting their community as a contributing factor to the area’s high rate of kidnappings.
Despite the presence of military and police personnel in the vicinity, the kidnappers, numbering six, returned around 11:25 p.m. on Sunday to carry out the abduction. The girls, aged 16 and 14, were reportedly taken through the forests and hills in the area.
Currently, the kidnappers have issued a ransom demand of N30 million for the safe release of the captive sisters.
