Nigerian singer Tems emotionally dedicated her Best African Music Performance Grammy win to her mother during her acceptance speech at the 67th Grammy Awards.

Tems, who won for her song Love Me Jeje, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday, and this is her first Grammys. Thank you, Mum, for everything you’ve done for me and my brother. Happy birthday, and I love you.”

She also thanked her team, including Muyiwa, Wale, and her stylist, for their support. “To God be the glory. He has changed my life so much,” she added.

This win marks Tems’ second Grammy, following her contribution to Future’s Wait For U. Love Me Jeje won in a competitive category, beating other notable nominees like Yemi Alade, Asake, Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay, and Burna Boy.

Tems’ victory highlights Nigeria’s continued dominance in global music, adding to her growing legacy as a top African artist.
