The ethnic rivalry between the Tiv people of Oju LGA precisely the Bonta People of Konshisha and the Ukpete people of Oju LGA is been described as a serious crisis now!
A resident if the community said, “We would plead that the authorities should do its best to quell this menace so it doesn’t escalates to ethnic War.
‘Already, the Awaji Road from Oju to Aliade is sieged with Militias and the road has been avoided by commuters and travellers who ordinarily would use the road as short cut to Makurdi and Vis a vis! They have to use the Otukpo road to Makurdi Vis a vis!
“Earlier report has it that they have been ferreting the people of Oju, pulling down their buildings, forcefully harvesting their crops, seizing their farming implements, inflicting grievous injuries without a corresponding defense!”
