terrorists have reportedly abducted more than 30 farmers in the early hours of Saturday in the Chikuri community, situated in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A resident named Dogara Peter, who confirmed this tragic incident during an interview with Sunday PUNCH, revealed that his mother and sister were among those taken.
According to Peter, the victims were seized while working on Maikudi’s farmland. He expressed the community’s growing concern as they have had no contact with the abductors.
“We implore the security forces and government to take immediate action to ensure the safe return of our people,” Peter pleaded.
This unfortunate event marks the third instance of kidnappings in Peter’s family, leading to severe economic hardships. He emphasized that they lack the means to pay any ransom and that the entire community is reeling from the traumatic situation.
“Our only hope now rests with the security agencies and the government,” Peter added.
As of the time of this report, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, did not respond to multiple calls or a text message from our correspondent.
