The Nigerian military killed a number of Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State on Monday.
The terrorists were killed while collecting tax in the volatile city.
Fighter jets bombarded their locations within Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Air Task Force (ATF) of North-East Operation Hadin Kai detected the terrorists and engaged.
The insurgents were moving in groups after they assaulted residents and collected taxes at a roadblock they mounted.
A security officer told PRNigeria that airstrikes were conducted at Tumbum Kanta and Mangari villages near Baga in Kukawa.
“We couldn’t ascertain the exact figure of the terrorists killed, but they are more than a dozen”, he said.
Similarly, troops in another operation, killed ISWAP members in Marte.
