Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has lauded the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom for defending his people against herdsmen.
Wike specifically hailed Ortom for his excellent performance in the areas of security, infrastructural development and quality leadership delivery.
Addressing Benue people while on a one-day visit to the state on Tuesday, Gov Wike saluted Gov Ortom for standing firm in the defence of his people against killings and attacks by herdsmen.
He added that he was surprised seeing such gigantic network of roads constructed by Gov Ortom, wondering where he was getting his funds from.
He further added that, Gov Ortom was unassuming leader with great character and wouldn’t succumb to pressure of abandoning the umbrella that provided him with shelter while he was being intimidated by the apparatchiks of the broom party.
