Miss Vanessa Victor Ocheme and her family, today, returned to say ‘Thank you’ to Distinguished Senator Abba Patrick Moro, in his Otukpo residence for fulfilling his promise to the young girl.
The Senator had, on July 12, 2020, sighted young Vanessa in an event walking with the aid of crutches and was moved to pity. He called her to himself and promised her and her family that he would sponsor the needed surgery that would make her walk well again.
It was a promise well kept, hence the appreciation visit by the little girl and her family to thank the Comrade-Senator.
They prayed God to enlarge the coast of the Senator and answer all his prayers.
In his response, Senator Moro said he felt highly excited seeing Vanessa walk normally. ”I’m happy to see our daughter walk well. The day I first saw her, I felt pity for her. I thought of how long she would walk with crutches, there and there I told myself that whatever it would cost me to have her leg corrected, I would pay. And thank God, today she’s walking well.
“I tell people that I’m not in politics for any personal gain, but to use whatever privilege I can get from politics to impact positively on the lives of fellow human beings, and this I will continue to do until I breath my last.
“I know I cannot reach out to everyone who wants one form of assistance or the other from me at the same time, but I will always strive to make someone happy per time. It’s a promise.
“I congratulate you, my daughter.”
