‘The gods are angry’ – Idoma people react as Sowore’s ‘chief priest’ rocks Idoma attire to court

Idoma indigenes have taken to the social media to react to the action of former presidential aspirant and #RevolutionNow leader, Omoyele Sowore, who stormed the venue of his trial on Tuesday morning in company of a young man believed to be a native doctor.

The young man was garbed in the Idoma traditional wear, known as Edema with a red bag and cowries all over his body.
While most Nigerians are reacting to the action of the SaharaReporters publisher, to the Idomas it is not just about Sowore going to the court with his “native doctor,” but the issue of the chief priest wearing their highly pride red and black cultural attire to the court.

The gods, they believe are angry over his action.
The dress of the native doctor has elicited more reactions among the Idomas across social media.
Here are some of the reactions as compiled by IDOMA VOICE:
Linda Ibinabo Ochagla wrote; “Sowore wan put ldoma land on the map.

Obochi from idoma kingdom, e be like say this one strong pass .. Nigeria is an interesting movie..more and more drama everyday…

“The Gods are angry”, Sowore could be heard saying to his entourage while awaiting the presiding judge on the matter.”

Ochogwu Eneayi Agatha wrote; “Walahi I go do lone protest for this”

Jerry Akpancy wrote; “For me, the idoma traditional wear has been rubbed on the floor and he should be sued for that. I don’t care the reason what so ever, the proper people should see into this quickly. This is total nonsense.”

Jo Sh Ua wrote; “Even native doctor no longer respecting our culture….. A native doctor on idoma cultural attire standing with SOWORE at magistrate court…Abuja.”

Cletus Agada wrote; “The Commander of Okonobo Forest, High Priest Che Rex sent a high powered delegation from Okonobo Deities led by Chief Pius Agor to keep a close eye on Omoyele Sowore as his case continues at Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja.”

Julie Ooja Okoh wrote; “Idoma attire( achi) to the world Sowore your werey has cross boundary.”
Charles Avishigh wrote; “I think we should not really joke with this. You can’t wake up and want to redefine a God fearing people with this drama. It is not just right.

This attire has remained a source of pride and unity for too many people.
We should not allow this.”

Obeya Dankwanbo Jnr wrote; “It was confirmed, the high chief priest is from agatu.”

Mathias Ogabo wrote; “You can’t call the guy Idoma Chief priest because he’s putting on the Idoma native attire na. Anyone can buy and put it on”

Wilson Godwin Abutu wrote; “This happened today.

A man dressed in his Juju way followed Sowore to Court.

My problem here: Why is the man putting on IDOMA traditional attires?”
Amos Paul wrote; “Black and red is always known to be juju colour. So don’t think his black and red attire represent Idoma own.”
