The recent spate of cult related killings in Otukpo the traditional headquarters of the Idoma nation has reached an alarming rate.

While many people have continued to propound theories as to why the dastardly act has continued at astronomical rate, no definite, precise and purposeful solution has been provided.
Be it a supremacy struggle, a fight for dorminance or the bidding of political pay masters, the fact still remains that these killings are absolutely outrageous.

As a people known for a high regard and respect for human life, this recent trend is not just an alien culture in our land but a complete deviation from what we uphold as our culture.
We do not shed blood.
We do not kill ourselves.
We do not slaughter our visitors.

The question is; where did we miss it? Again people will bring alot of theories to the table. However, the truth remains that we must go back to the lost value systems of the Idoma people.
Our traditional leaders, parents, teachers, spiritual leaders, security agencies, infact, everyone must wake up..and fast.
Gradually, our youths have become an endangered specie in our own land.
