The Real Ordination Story of Dr Paul Enenche + Meet The man Who Anointed Him

For a while now, speculation and debate have surrounded the ordination of Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre into ministry.

Who truly ordained him into ministry? This question has sparked considerable debate and media discussion.

In biblical history, great prophets were often commissioned by significant father figures. Elijah mentored Elisha, and Samuel anointed David.

This classic example of such mentorship and commissioning remains relevant today, IDOMA VOICE understands.

The debate about Dr. Enenche’s ordination has persisted, with various claims emerging over time.

Notably, Dr. Abel Damina of Power City has claimed multiple times in sermons and interviews that he ordained Dr. Paul Enenche and Apostle Paul Odola simultaneously in 1996 during a conference in Uyo.

However, there is evidence suggesting that Dr. Paul Enenche and Dr. Abel Damina’s paths crossed earlier than 1996.

Paul Odola, who was reportedly ordained alongside Dr. Enenche, has recounted their initial meeting in 1995, which has added complexity to the narrative.

According to Odola, when Dr Paul Enenche came into the picture in 1995, “he was already a man of God in his own right.”

He recalls that in 1995 when he invited Dr Paul Enenche to minister for him in Bauchi, Enenche came for the meeting alongside his wife, Dr Mrs Becky Enenche, his mother in-law and their daughter, Deborah who was few months old.

Dr. Paul Enenche himself has openly shared details about his ordination and ministry growth.

Paul Enenche in one of his sermons quoted Archbishop Benson Idahosa of the blessed memory as saying that “If an antelope have the backing of the lion it can confront an elephant.” He said, people sometimes wonder at the audacity with which they speak. He said it is because they have the backing of a lion –Bishop Oyedepo.

During the Kingdom Power and Glory Conference in 2013, Dr. Enenche confirmed that he first heard about Bishop Oyedepo in an audiotape entitled Unleashing the Secret of the Supernatural Realms.

Before he met him one-on-one, Oyedepo usually appeared to him in his nightly dreams, anointing him with oil.

“That was when I discovered that he is my father. I pursued and held tenaciously for getting closed to 20 years asserting that every devil can confirm that the genetics and the chromosomes of my father (Oyedepo) is in me,” Dr. Enenche averred during the conference in 2013.

The fire-spitting apostle also revealed that before the Dunamis in Area 1 auditorium was erected, Bishop Oyedepo ordered him not to start the project until he brings the building plan before him. “I said yes sir. I took the plan to him, he laid hand on it. He said, knock off this wall, knock of that wall to gain more space. Go and build.

He came and commanded the building to grow, and it grew in a very short time.”
“Without a father, you have no feather,” he avowed, “without a father you have no future and without a father, you can’t go further.”

Dr. Enenche’s account provides a different perspective from Dr. Abel Damina’s claim.

According to Dr. Enenche, he and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, who was pregnant at the time, met Bishop Oyedepo in Jos over 30 years ago.

During this meeting, Bishop Oyedepo anointed them in person, following the earlier prophetic dreams.

Dr. Enenche’s daughter, Deborah, was born on March 28, 1995, which was the year Dr. Enenche and Abel Damina reportedly met.

This account appears to contradict Dr. Abel Damina’s claim of ordination in 1996.

Pastor Noah Ussaini of Destiny Restoration Church in Lagos, who served under Dr. Abel Damina, also highlighted that it typically takes years of rigorous work across various departments before one is ordained as a pastor.

His comment suggests that Dr. Paul Enenche, having met Dr. Damina in 1995, would not have met the supposed “criteria” to be ordained just a year later in 1996.

Additionally, Damina’s claim of preaching at the inauguration service of Dunamis at Sheraton Hotel has been contested.

Pastors Ussaini and Odola, however, said the church initially convened at Agura Hotel in Abuja before Dr. Enenche invited Damina to a conference.

According to Pastor Noah, he was part of the inaugural service of Dunamis at Agura Hotel in Abuja, contrary to Damina’s claim that the first service was held at Sheraton Hotel.

This suggests that Dr. Abel Damina’s role in Dr. Enenche’s ordination may not align with the documented evidence.

Bishop Oyedepo’s involvement in Dunamis is further highlighted by his significant contributions over the years, including the dedication of the Glory Dome—Dunamis’ 100,000-capacity worship center—and his presence at the wedding of Dr. Enenche’s daughter, Barrister Deborah, in 2022 and many more.

Despite the controversies, Dr. Paul Enenche has consistently demonstrated humility and a deep respect for spiritual mentorship.

His commitment to spiritual fatherhood is evident in his submission to Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church.

With this, the general public should now have a clearer understanding of who truly ordained Dr. Paul Enenche into ministry
