The sad story of the Famous Government Teachers College, Utonkon, Benue State

By Mike Ekweta

Please spare 5 minutes of your time to look at these pictures and you will understand how Government allow very good inovations and investments to waste on the alter of politics.

Because Utonkon is a minority tribe in Idoma land which is itself is a minority tribe in Benue state, this one time magnificent edifice of a school which graduated people who are now doing very well in all works of life, it is allowed to die. First it was changed to Government College Utonkon but the government just neglected it and will not even give it the basic attention.

Then after a lot of hues and cries, APA University was sited here, the powers that be never paid attention to the well being of the school. It was scrapped.

Now some people have come to take the place and establish a private university but the government are not giving it serous attention.

Is it a crime to be a minority tribe?
Where are the Alma Maters of Government Teachers college Utonkon or is it Government College Utonkon?

Why will Benue State Government allow these waste?

Somebody help me beg them to come and revamp these edifice as it will not only help my people educationally but it will also Boost the economy of my town.
