“There is no Christmas in the Bible” – Pastor Muoka, GO Chosen Revival Ministry

At the thanksgiving service to commemorate the anniversary of the Lord’s Chosen Revival Ministries, the General Overseer, Pastor Lazarus Muoka had a chat with journalists on his divine mandate for 10 billion souls, the feats the church has achieved in its 17 years of existence, not leaving out how the church has weathered the storms of fierce criticisms and oppositions.

Blow is the excerpts:

The Chosen church is 17 years but its achievements appear older, what is the secret?

The secret of the success of The Lord’s Chosen Church is God, whatever we have accomplished is God, it is not we, because the Bible says, it is God that enabled us to be where we are.

At what point did you begin the see the church as a mega Church?

From the birth because God convinced me that I have pregnancy of 10 billion souls, so having conceived 10 billion souls from day one, so I see it from the beginning that it is a mega church.

What are the challenges encountered by the church and how have you been able to conquer?

There are numerous challenges, and at the very beginning, when a child is born you need to give a child education and sense of direction. These are part of the biggest challenges. So, the first challenge is making sure that the church has a standard and everybody will work according to that standard and God did it for us. The other challenges, was a time the devil was stirring up people to contest the vision which they did out of envy, there were people that were not standing and were losing their members to the Church because they have failed to feed them with the truth and give them what it takes for them to be genuine Christians. So when they failed to give them those things and The Chosen was born people were coming from the orthodox, charismatic and were being genuinely born again. While the manifestation of God’s glory and God’s power was going on, there was a very big challenge. Many conspired to speak against this Church and fight against the Holy Ghost, but today those who did are coming out for restitution. But in all that, God saw us through. So God has been our source of victory in all the challenges.

There are places where the gospel is strongly opposed as there are strict laws in place, how have you being able to reach the people in these nations with the gospel?

Our Lord Jesus Christ, our saviour and master said He is the church and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it, so whether in America, China, where you have challenges and the Middle East, God is still owner of the whole earth since the earth is of the lord and the fullness thereof. As long as He is the one that owns every soul, He will establish the church anywhere in the whole world. Sometime ago the scientists said they went to the moon and they saw something and went to pick it only to see it was John chapter 3 verse 16, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son…

The point is that God can build the church in the moon. So having put John chapter 3 verse 16 in the moon, He can as well build the church in the Middle East, Asia, and all over the whole world. So by the grace of God, the Lord’s Chosen has entered all those places and it is thriving.

How are you giving back to society as a church?

All I want to let you know is everything about the church is about charity, so we continue to help the masses, anywhere as long as it is within our ability to help people to be free from their problem, both members and non members.

Having been the General Overseer for 17 years, are there things you like to do differently onwards?

Well I don’t think there is something I would like to do differently because I believe I am doing the right thing. What I am doing today is still the standard, because the Bible says ‘seek you the kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing shall be added to you,’ The point is that when you do the will of God every other thing, God will take care of them. So I will still go back to that standard, doing the will of God and prospering.

Tell us about the annual programmes held by the church towards the end of the year? Is the ‘Only God Can Do This’ programme same as the Christmas programme?

In the first place our programme is aimed at saving souls, our programme is not for funfair, it is not a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, but rather preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christmas is a doctrine of those who don’t read the Bible, there is no place in my Bible that I see Christmas, what I do is taking advantage of Christmas to preach the gospel. The programme is ‘Only God can do it’, is a special programme for people, to come and appreciate God on what He Has done from the beginning of the year, at the same time we minister to them. What one is not able to do from January to December, God will do it, that is why it is entitled ‘Only God Can Do This’.

You always talk about people who had spoken against the church coming for restitution, what is the faith of those that have come for restitution and those that have not come?

Those that come here for restitution, by the grace of God they have done the will of God, because they have done the right thing God will forgive them. God almighty will save them because they have done what is right, so it is very clear and I thank God you observe that many people have been coming for restitution, because they rose up against us in 2013 and began to speak evil against the church but at the end they have come to do restitution. Meanwhile, the 2020 programme in Mgbidi, Imo State with the theme ‘What God Has Determined Shall be done Mgbidi 2020’ is an international programme hosting nations of the world. The programme addresses the needs and problems of people from the beginning of the year to the end. What God Has determined for us in the year must surely come to pass, we will converge at Mgbidi from January 3 to 6, ministering to the need of the people. God is going to do wonders. The Lord will break the barrier and make ways for His people in 2020.
