‘They hate me like hell, but I’m their president’ — Tinubu tells Benue people

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed criticisms from political opponents, stating that regardless of their feelings toward him, he remains their leader.

Speaking in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Wednesday during a condolence visit over recent killings in the state, Tinubu addressed a cross-section of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, political figures, and youth leaders.

“Not everyone will like you in politics,” the President said. “They hate me like hell too. But I’m here, I am the President.”

Tinubu emphasized that negative sentiments from opposition figures do not deter him from performing his duties as Nigeria’s leader.
