‘This is no longer ordinary’ – Och’Otukpo, Chief John Eimonye speaks on fire outbreak at Otukpo main market

The traditional ruler of Otukpo Chief John O. Eimonye (Och’Otukpo) has reacted to the fresh fire outbreak at Otukpo main market.

IDOMA VOICE reports that there was a fire outbreak at the central market on Wednesday, with several shops razed.

The monarch, who was at the market while firemen were sweating it out to contain the inferno, called on the government to come to their aid.

According to him, “Not too long, this same market was on fire and we pleaded with the state government to come to our aid by making the road motorable and enforce a law that the market should close by 6pm.

“Anybody seen within the market premises beyond 6pm should be arrested.

“Fire does not come from heaven just like that. We are sure there are people in the market who are behind this. “
