This will be my last World Cup – Messi

Lionel Messi has confirmed that Qatar 2022 World Cup will be his last World Cup in his magnanimous career.

Argentina superstar Lionel Messi said in a conversation with Sebastián Vignolo that the 2022 Qatar World Cup will be his last.

“This will be my last World Cup — for sure. The decision has been made,” Messi said in the conversation.

Messi was runners-up at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, losing to a golden Germany side.

The 35-year-old first appeared at the 2006 World Cup as a teenager and has since been to every World Cup since then, coming closest to the ultimate prize in 2014.

In the last edition, Messi’s Argentina lost to eventual champions France in the Round of 16 of the tournament.

Lionel Messi has won seven Ballon d’ Or and all team trophies with only the World Cup eluding him.

It’s only a matter of time before we know if this awesome unbeaten Argentina team can lift the much craved for World Cup.
