Thomas Tuchel, Antonio Conte charged by FA over clash at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte have both been charged by the FA after their fracas at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The two managers had clashed earlier in the game and received yellow cards after causing a fracas on the sidelines, following Tottenham’s first goal at Stamford Bridge.

Both managers were then given a red card by referee Anthony Taylor after full time, as they had another row immediately after the final whistle.

The Football Association has now charged them both for improper conduct.

They have until Thursday 18 August to respond to the charge.

Meanwhile, Tuchel seems to be at more risk of a sanction following his statement about the referee.

The FA have opened an investigation into his comments following the match.

Asked if Taylor should not referee Chelsea games, Tuchel said: “Maybe it would be better. Maybe it would be better.”

Tuchel also claimed his players were ‘worried’ about playing in matches officiated by Taylor, with Chelsea fans also not a fan of Taylor.

Asked about fans’ concerns, he added: “Not only the fans. You know the players, they know what’s going on when they are on the pitch. They know it.”
