Thomas Tuchel opens up on why he’s leaving Bayern

Former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel, has shed light on his decision to depart from Bayern Munich, confirming both his and the club’s decision to part ways at the end of the current season.

Bayern Munich made the announcement during the week, citing a mutual agreement for the separation, amid a turbulent period of poor form for the club.

In a statement to reporters on Saturday, Tuchel explained, “We struggled to consistently elevate the team’s performance to a higher level. That is why we have decided to go our separate ways at the end of the season.”

When asked if taking the Bayern job was a mistake, the former Chelsea boss replied, “There is no point in dwelling on the past. It is often forgotten that we also faced significant challenges with injuries, which hindered our progress significantly.”
