The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has approved the promotion of 49 senior officials within the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
This announcement was made in a statement on Friday, September 20, by Corps Commander and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide.
According to the statement, 21 Corps Commanders (CC) have been elevated to Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), while 11 Deputy Corps Commanders have been promoted to Corps Commanders.
Additionally, 17 individuals have advanced from Assistant Corps Commander to Deputy Corps Commander. It was also noted that three Assistant Corps Marshals will retire immediately.
The newly promoted Assistant Corps Marshals include key positions such as Corps Secretary ACM LD Shehu, Corps Legal Adviser ACM KD Gonji, Corps Public Education Officer ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Intelligence Officer ACM G Ntukidem, Corps Provost ACM AT Hassan, and others from various sectors.
The three senior officers set for immediate retirement are ACM DI Okuobeya, ACM AS Ochi, and ACM Adekanye.

Among the newly promoted corps commanders is Wasiu Adenekan, the corps information technology officer and technical adviser to the corps marshal. The list of promoted Deputy Corps Commanders includes DCC EE Uzoma and sixteen others.
Senator Akume expressed his satisfaction with the transparency of the promotion process and urged the newly appointed officers to recommit themselves to the Corps’ mission of reducing road traffic accidents and creating a safer driving environment in Nigeria.
He notes that these promotions align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initiative to acknowledge excellence and hard work under the Hope Agenda.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed congratulated the newly promoted officers for their outstanding performance and stressed that with their new ranks come greater responsibilities.
He encouraged those who were not selected this year to remain loyal to the system and assured them that he would focus on improving the overall welfare of FRSC personnel. He urged all staff to stay optimistic and actively contribute to achieving the Corps’ objectives.
