President Bola Tinubu met with All Progressives Congress (APC) governors on Wednesday under the umbrella of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
The meeting, held at the Aso Rock Villa, was led by PGF Chairman, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State.
The discussions focused on key issues, as shared on Thursday by President Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun.
Meanwhile, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has called on President Tinubu to reduce the price of premium motor spirit (PMS) to ₦300 per litre between December and January.
Naija News recalls that following Tinubu’s declaration to end the fuel subsidy in 2023, the price of PMS surged from ₦198 to ₦560, reaching as high as ₦1,100 to ₦1,200, contributing to inflation and rising living costs.
In an interview with journalists on Wednesday, George urged Tinubu to reduce fuel prices ahead of Christmas, stating that this gesture would bring relief to Nigerians during the festive season. He suggested that Tinubu could work out the cost implications and seek donations from philanthropists, including the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to help fund the reduction.
