Former Rivers South East Senator, Magnus Abe, is insisting that he remains a member and leader of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State despite not taking part in the membership registration and revalidation of exercise of the party.
Senator Abe made the comments during a media parley in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
He recalled that he had raised some issues during the exercise leading to the setting up of a committee by the National Leadership of the party which is yet to resolve the issues.
In his words; the committee insisted that the revalidation exercise be carried out and everybody should be included, that is the position of the party.
“Now, that has not been done and because that has not been done the party issued a statement that the five states including Rivers state, that those who had not done the revalidation should take part even in the congresses.”
Senator Abe also noted that he was still consulting on his next political move ahead of the 2023 elections, adding that when that is done, he will make his decision known to the public.
He however vowed that the 2023 will not be the same as 2015 and 2019, stressing that things must be done differently for APC to come out victorious in the election.
Reacting to the declaration of interest by the National leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, Sen. Abe noted that the country needs a man like Tinubu who “likes and understands money”.
