President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abdulrazak Yusuf Tukur as the National Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representing the North West region.
Additionally, Tinubu nominated lawyer Saseyi Feyijimi Ibiyemi to succeed the late Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ogun State.

He has been with INEC since 1999, starting as an assistant chief administrative officer and advancing to the position of Director of Electoral Operations and Logistics.
Tukur’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation. Onanuga also noted that if Ibiyemi, 58, is approved, she will take over from ‘Niyi Ijalaye, who passed away in August while serving as the resident electoral commissioner in Ogun State. Ibiyemi, originally from Ilaje in Ondo State, currently serves as the Administrative Secretary of INEC in Lagos State.
