President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Adeladan Olarinre and Mukhtar Muhammed as permanent secretaries to address existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.
This decision was announced in Abuja on Wednesday by Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF).
Olarinre is set to represent Oyo State, while Muhammed will serve as the representative for the North-West geopolitical zone. Olotu highlighted that their selection was the result of a rigorous and transparent process, reflecting the administration’s commitment to meritocracy, excellence, and competence within the civil service.
She urged the new permanent secretaries to leverage their wealth of experience and expertise to enhance public service delivery and advance the government’s development agenda.
In December 2024, the federal government had already appointed eight permanent secretaries from Abia, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Kebbi, Rivers, and Kaduna to fill current and forthcoming vacancies across various states and geopolitical zones. This latest round of appointments builds on the previous set announced in June 2024, which included representatives from Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Jigawa, Ondo, Zamfara, and the Southeast and South-South regions.
Didi Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, praised President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to transparency, meritocracy, and professionalism in the civil service, noting that these appointments underscore the administration’s dedication to building a competent, results-oriented public service that effectively meets the needs of Nigerians.
