Tinubu makes new appointments (Full list)

President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the appointment of 12 consuls-general and five chargés d’affaires to serve as representatives of Nigeria in 14 countries.

The announcement of their appointments came from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, through a statement issued on Tuesday. In the statement conveyed by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar urged the newly appointed chargés d’affaires and consuls-general to embody Nigeria’s values as exemplary ambassadors.

Tuggar emphasized the crucial role of the new appointees in advancing President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda. He urged them, as seasoned career diplomats, to refrain from engaging in political activities and to rededicate themselves to the pursuit of diplomacy for the collective benefit and progress of Nigeria.

In response, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, the recently appointed Consul General for the Consulate in New York, reiterated his colleagues’ commitment to upholding the principles of their profession.
