President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven individuals to lead key agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
The announcement was made by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement released on Tuesday evening. The statement, titled “President Bola Tinubu appoints new heads of agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development,” details the new appointments.
Among the key appointments is Lami Bello, who has been named the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.
Ngelale explained that these appointments are intended to “enhance the delivery of relief to Nigerians and improve the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development initiatives.”
Here is a list of the new appointees and their respective positions:
Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency: Badamasi Lawal. Lawal, who holds a doctorate in education, previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State.
Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office: Funmilola Olotu. Olotu, with a master’s in business administration, is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups: Aishat Alubankudi. Alubankudi holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding: Aderemi Adebowale. Adebowale, who has a doctorate, is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and has previously served as a local government chairperson.
Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office: Abdullahi Imam. Imam, with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy, has held positions as chief accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd and as a bank manager.
Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities: Ayuba Gufwan. Gufwan, who holds an LLB, is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.
Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons: Lami Bello. Bello has a master’s in public administration and has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, as well as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministries of Health and Women Affairs and Social Development.
