This is totally unacceptable – Bishop Kukah rejects Tinubu/Shettima ticket

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah has rejected the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

The cleric said the same faith ticket being championed by the APC is reprehensible and unacceptable.

Speaking with Channels Television on Thursday, the Catholic Bishop insisted that the ticket was a setback to the country’s national integration.

Kukah wondered if Muslims would accept a Christian-Christian presidential ticket.

Shettima asked to step down as Tinubu’s running mate

The Middle-Belt Congress (MBC) has asked Senator Kashim Shettima to resign as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

MBC said this would save the All Progressives Congress (APC) from impending electoral defeat in 2023.

Mr. Bilal Abdullahi, the Middle-Belt Congress leader, while briefing newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja, explained that the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC, came with its attendant political baggage.
The MBC stated that it was morally unjustifiable for Senator Kashim Shettima to hold onto the vice presidential slot of the APC, saying that such action had heated the polity in ways too numerous to mention in the country.

Don’t come to southeast to campaign – Igbo youths warn Tinubu, supporters

Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his supporters have been asked to steer clear of Igbo land.

A youth group, under the auspices of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), gave the warning in a statement on Wednesday.

President and Publicity Secretary of the group, Goodluck Ibem and Okay Nworu, respectively, in the statement, described, as unfortunate, how certain persons from Igbo land would allow themselves to be used to promote the ambition of “a man, who is outdated in all ramifications in the scheme of things, to be voted as a Nigeria’s president in 2023.”

Tinubu opens up on demanding N50bn monthly from ex-gov, Ambode

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has reacted to reports alleging that he demanded N50 billion monthly from the former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode during his administration.

Tinubu was reacting to an online report that part of his inability to secure the APC governorship ticket in 2018 was his refusal to remit the said amount to Asiawaju.

Debunking the report on Tuesday, a statement by the Director, Media and Communications for Tinubu Campaign Organisation(TCO), Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu could not have made such a demand.

The presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has sent out passionate message to his counterpart in the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi.

Tinubu said Obi should as a matter of urgency call his supporters to order, warning that “falsehood and disinformation will not win elections”.

Tinubu, in a statement by his campaign organisation, on Wednesday, urged Obi to caution his supporters and to allow the election circle to be about issues that will advance the growth, progress and stability of the country.

Pope has not told me to reject Tinubu – Lalong

Plateau State governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation, Simon Lalong, on Wednesday, said he was yet to receive any advice from Pope Francis to reject his recent appointment to lead the campaign for a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

“As a Catholic, everything we do, we send the advice to the Pope. The Pope has not told me that what I’m doing is bad to accept the Director-General. As a Catholic, we take that direction,” Lalong said.

2023 presidency: APC leaders in north central reject Tinubu/Shettima

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shetima have suffered a rejection in North Central Nigeria.

This is just as political leaders from the region said Tinubu and Shettima will not get their support ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders from the North Central, stated this while faulting the adoption of Muslim-Muslim ticket by the party.

The over 1,000 supporters of the APC, from the six North-central states, also rejected the appointment of Governor Simon Lalong as Director General, DG, of Bola Tinubu Campaign Council.

Former Enugu State Governor, Chimaroke Nnamani has insisted that the All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu is not suffering from dementia.

Nnamani, who represents Enugu East Senatorial District at the red chamber, described Tinubu as “the hardest working Politico of this generation”.

The lawmaker, however, said he would cast his vote for his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

How Wike will work for Tinubu in 2023 revealed

There are indications that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, crisis, Governor Nyesom Wike will work against the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

This is according to a socio-political activist, Deji Adeyanju.

He said Wike might work against Atiku considering his new-found love with APC chieftains.

Adeyanju told Daily Post that: “There is the possibility that Wike will work against Atiku and PDP because all politicians care about is their political interest and self-preservation, but in essence, nobody can tell Rivers people who they should vote for or not at this level.

“But for political expediency and other reasons, you need a governor who can galvanise people so that there would be massive voting, so that people will not be disenfranchised.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has explained why he incited members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who are loyal to Bola Tinubu to commission projects in the state.

Soyinka disowns Pyrates Confraternity members calling Tinubu ‘shaky shaky baba’

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has disowned some members of the National Association of Seadogs, popularly known as the Pyrates Confraternity, mocking the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, Bola Tinubu.

In the video, members of the Confraternity during a procession gyrated to an anti-Tinubu song mocked the former Lagos State governor for a speech he made in June in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he asked that power should be handed over to him.

The members of the Pyrates Confraternity sang, “Hand dey shake, leg dey shake, Baba wey no well, e de shout emi lo kan (Hands are shaking, legs are shaking. A sick old man is shouting ‘it’s my turn’).

“Emi lo kan (2ce), Baba wey no well, him dey shout emi lokan (It’s my turn (2ce), a sick old man is shouting ‘it’s my turn’”.

2023 presidency: Dino Melaye mocks Tinubu

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, on Saturday, claimed that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, sees the presidency as his “entitlement and retirement benefits”.

According to Melaye, Tinubu was contesting for the presidency not on basis of the greater good but to fulfill his “lifetime ambition”.

In a video shared on his Facebook page, the former lawmaker who was responding to the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, over his comment on Atiku in a TV interview recently, said, unlike Tinubu, the PDP’s candidate is contesting with rich credentials.

There will be calamity in Nigeria if Tinubu becomes president – Bishop

Electorates in the country have been asked to reject the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election.

An Anglican Bishop, which made this call on Saturday, said Nigerians can’t afford to suffer for another eight years.

Tajudeen Adefisoye, The lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency has said only bastards will not support the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu, the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Adefisoye said he stands on the mandate of Tinubu/Shettima and nothing can make him change his mind.

Bishop Kayode bombs CAN for rejecting Tinubu/Shettima ticket

The National Coordinator of Integrity Ministers International Ministries, Bishop Kayode Williams has slammed the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for rejecting the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Williams said there is nothing wrong in the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, picking a Muslim as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.

In an interview with The News Nigeria, the cleric stated that his ministry will be “Supporting Tinubu, and we are going to work and pray hard because it is a directive from God.”

He said: “If you look at Bola Ahmed Tinubu, if you look at his antecedents you will know that he’s a man who always studies very hard. Before he makes decisions and even when he starts because we are following him.

APC dumps El-Rufai, Oshiohmole, appoints new DG for Tinubu’s campaign

In another 11th-hour decision, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has dumped Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai and Adams Oshiohmole as the Director-General of Tinubu Campaign Organisation.

The party has settled for Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalung as head of the campaign DG on Thursday.

Oshiohmole and El-Rufai were earlier penciled down for the job but due to outcry, they were dropped.

2023: What Tinubu told El-Rufai, Oshiomhole, APC Governors

Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai has revealed details of the Monday meeting between the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governors elected on the platform of the party.

According to El-Rufai, a director-general has been picked for APC presidential campaign council.

Speaking after the meeting, he noted that other positions in the council are being discussed.

The governor said President Muhammadu Buhari and Abdullahi Adamu, national chairman of the APC, would be briefed before a formal announcement.

2023: Northern Christians dump Tinubu/Shettima, may settle for Peter Obi

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Northern Christian leaders have withdrawn their support for the joint ticket of Tinubu and Shettima.

Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima who are both Muslims are the presidential and running mate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, respectively.

Their have been outrage over the decision of Tinubu to pick a northern Muslim as his running mate against the wish of the people.

Tee Mac denies saying Tinubu is unfit to be Nigeria’s President

Former President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli denied the viral report that quoted him as saying that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is unfit to be Nigeria’s President.

Applesbite reports that Tee Mac in a Facebook comment attacked Tinubu, claiming he is 86 years old, warning Nigerians against voting for him in 2023.

However, in a statement released on Saturday, 30th July, the renowned flutist said the competence of Tinubu to lead Nigeria was never in doubt, stressing that he only expressed fears of the rigors of office.

The leader of pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, has disclosed that the group backed Peter Obi of the Labour Party to prevent the continuity of the “incompetence” of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a tweet posted on Friday, Mr Adebanjo said the group is opposed to the candidacy of Bola Tinubu, a Yoruba man, who is the candidate of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) because the former Lagos State governor will ensure continuity of the current administration.

The Action Alliance (AA) has again dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC), the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his vice, Senator Kashim; before a Federal High Court over alleged double nomination.

The party, in its earlier suit pending before the Abuja division of the Federal High Court, is seeking the disqualification of the APC from the 2023 presidential polls over alleged act of perjury on the part of its presidential candidate, Tinubu.

The act according to the AA, in the fresh suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1256/2022, contravened Section 35 of the Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2022.

Veteran flutist, Tee Mac, has issued a word of advice to Nigerians regarding the choice of their next president.

In the comment section of a writer, Yemi Olakitan, on Facebook, who had declared his support for the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, the flutist alleged that there was so much about the candidate that was shrouded in secrecy.

He said, “Dear Yemi. Any body can choose any candidate, but an intelligent person will ask himself the question: do I choose rightly! Is the man qualified! Is he honest! Does he tell us the truth about his age, background and how he made his money! Is this man healthy enough at 86 to take up the task of a totally run down country?”

‘Jihad against Christians’ – Omokri reacts as Tinubu names El-Rufail campaign DG

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has described as Jihad against Christians the decision of APC presidential flag bearer to name Nasir El-Rufai as his campaign Director General.

Omokri said it is unfair that both presidential candidate and his deputy are both Muslims and still went ahead to pick another Muslim as DG.

2023: Atiku, Tinubu face fresh disqualification

The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has called for the disqualification of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2023 election.

The Kaduna State Chairman of the NNPP, Sani Litti urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify TInubu and Atiku on the grounds of alleged financial crimes during their respective presidential primaries.

Speaking on Monday, Litti called for the arrest of Tinubu and Atiku by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS).

According to him, “We call on INEC to disqualify Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu from contesting the presidential election in 2023 and also for the EFCC, the Police, and DSS to arrest them and all other actors who participated in the convention.

Amaechi under fire over comment on Tinubu

Some supporters and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress have come hard on former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over his claim that delegates who voted at the APC primary were bribed to influence the outcome of the convention.

Amaechi had claimed that many of those who were induced with money are now regretting their action.

Some of them, while reacting, said Amaechi was exhibiting traits of frustration after losing out to Tinubu.

Tinubu, Shettima face disqualification over Muslim-Muslim ticket

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been dragged to court for fielding presidential and vice-president candidates who are not Muslims.

An Abuja-based lawyer, Osigwe Momoh in the suit, seeks an order of perpetual injunction restraining the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) from publishing the name of the APC presidential candidate in the forthcoming coming elections for violation of the Nigeria Constitution.

The suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/1188/2022 claimed that the decision to pick the Party’s presidential flagbearer and the running mate from the same religion violates the principle and the spirit of the Nigeria Constitution.

Tinubu bombs Atiku, calls ex-VP pathological liar

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has accused his counterpart from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar of lying over his comment on Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Tinubu said Atiku asked him to be his running mate in 2007 but he refused.

Fake bishops: Tinubu asked to withdraw from presidential race

All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been asked to withdraw from the race.

Ths followed the alleged hiring of unknown persons to dress as bishops.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which made this call, described the APC’s alleged action as unpardonable.

1.The Asiwaju Tinubu Presidential Campaign Organisation on Thursday says it plans to unveil a 40-man think tank committee that will formulate the expectations of Nigerians when the former national leader of the All Progressives Congress wins the 2023 general election.

The committee, expected to be inaugurated on Wednesday, will be chaired by former governor of Edo State and two-term senator, Oserheimen Osunbor.

9. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), says Nigerians will suffer if they continue to recycle politicians in leadership positions.

In an opinion piece where he analysed the three major presidential candidates – Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi — the senior advocate said none of them is a perfect fit for the office.

12. A United Kingdom-based organization, Atlas Global, has announced that a social media platform has been created for the standard flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, to commemorate the former Lagos State governor’s 30 years in politics.

According to the group, this will allow Nigerians to have access to the presidential candidate.

13.A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Abayomi Mumuni has said the recent defeat of the APC in the 2022 gubernatorial election will not affect the changes of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of APC in 2023.

Mumuni, who contested in a gubernatorial election on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in 2011 in Lagos State, made this disclosure on Tuesday.
