1. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, Mrs kemi Nelson is dead. She was aged 66.
Nelson, an ally of Bola Tinubu, was said to have died after a brief illness.
2. The All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Sunday, defended the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Adamu, in an interview with Arise TV, said the party picked the best combination of aspirants that would take it to its destination.
3. A political support group, Tinubu Vanguard, has urged leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to form a united force ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Director-General of Tinubu Vanguard, Dr Benjamin Johnny, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, commended stakeholders, including President Muhammadu Buhari for allowing the election to be conducted without interference.
4. As controversy continued to trail the emergence of Muslim-Muslim ticket, indications have emerged that the presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has begun reaching out to Christian stakeholders across the nation, particularly in the North.
5. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, says the recent lawsuit of the Peoples Democratic Party calling for the disqualification of its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his counterpart in Labour Party over controversy trailing the use of placeholders cannot be justified.
A fiery Adamu said while he cannot speak on behalf of other political platforms, the ruling party operated with the ambience of the law.
6. President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday in Daura, Katsina State, said he did not interfere in the process that led to the election of former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to respect the party decision and his previous track record of competence.
Buhari noted the democratic process that brought up Tinubu, saying it reflected the will of the party members, hence “there was no need for interference.”
7. The National Coordinator, Project 37 for Tinubu-Shettima 2023, Mark Nsimbehe, has dismissed expression of support for presidential candidates on social media, stating that youths in Nigeria will vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Nsimbehe, in a veiled reference to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, challenged Nigerian youths to embrace issue-based politics.
8. Members of the Planning and Strategy Committee of the Tinubu Support Group have advised the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on the appointment of his campaign Director-General and the zoning of leadership seats in the National Assembly and the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The committee’s Chairman, Babachir Lawal, who is also a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, made the recommendations in the committee’s report tagged ‘Report on the Actualisation of the Presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Coming 2023 General Election.’
9. Members of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, have denied endorsing the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, for the 2023 presidency.
According to the group, its recent statement that the APC candidate has some level of admiration worthy of emulation, does not mean the Ohanaeze has endorsed him.
10. The APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Sunday said he was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of activist, prominent politician, and one of his closest associates, Yeye Kemi Nelson.
Nelson died on Sunday after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed terminal ailment that had kept her out of public glare for long.
