The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has called for the disqualification of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2023 election.
The Kaduna State Chairman of the NNPP, Sani Litti urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify TInubu and Atiku on the grounds of alleged financial crimes during their respective presidential primaries.
Speaking on Monday, Litti called for the arrest of Tinubu and Atiku by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to him, “We call on INEC to disqualify Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu from contesting the presidential election in 2023 and also for the EFCC, the Police, and DSS to arrest them and all other actors who participated in the convention.
Some supporters and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress have come hard on former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over his claim that delegates who voted at the APC primary were bribed to influence the outcome of the convention.
Amaechi had claimed that many of those who were induced with money are now regretting their action.
Some of them, while reacting, said Amaechi was exhibiting traits of frustration after losing out to Tinubu.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been dragged to court for fielding presidential and vice-president candidates who are not Muslims.
An Abuja-based lawyer, Osigwe Momoh in the suit, seeks an order of perpetual injunction restraining the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) from publishing the name of the APC presidential candidate in the forthcoming coming elections for violation of the Nigeria Constitution.
The suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/1188/2022 claimed that the decision to pick the Party’s presidential flagbearer and the running mate from the same religion violates the principle and the spirit of the Nigeria Constitution.
Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has stated that Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate settled for a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket based on political strategy.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has accused his counterpart from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar of lying over his comment on Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Tinubu said Atiku asked him to be his running mate in 2007 but he refused.
Atiku, who was the Action Congress, AC, presidential candidate in 2007, had said Tinubu wanted to be his running mate then.
The former Vice President said his refusal and insistence on a Southern Christian led to a breakdown in his relationship with Tinubu.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu has said the party will ensure the victory of presidential flag bearer Bola Tinubu in 2023.
Adamu spoke on Saturday at a meeting of party leaders with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
