1. The South-East zone of the All Progressives Congress has set its sight on the positions of Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation if the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, wins the 2023 general elections.
The development was disclosed by a top party chieftain in the South-East, who craved anonymity.
2. Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that the All Progressives Congress Presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, is not an experimental president given his dexterity and strong rooting in politics and administration in the Nigerian project.
The governor made the assertion at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano House, Abuja, when he received an award presented to him by the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups Worldwide, the national directorate, comprising Nigeria, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates chapters, for his leading role in Tinubu’s victory at the party’s primary election.
3. The All Progressives Congress (APC) women in the North-Central zone of the country have promised to work for the election of the presidential flag bearer of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next year’s general elections.
APC deputy national women leader, Mrs Zainab Ibrahim stated this yesterday in Lafia when she led all the APC state women leaders in North-Central and the APC national women leader in the zone, Princess Zarah Audu to launch the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) registration/collection and Women in Governance Advocacy in Nasarawa State.
4. The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Samuel Anyanwu, on Saturday said that his party would form government at the centre in 2023.
At a town hall meeting at his country home at Amaimo in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo state, Anyanwu said that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would defeat the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Tinubu.
5. A former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential contender, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has denied knowledge of purported plans by the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to reconcile him and Senator Magnus Abe.
Amaechi stated that there was bound to be internal wrangling anytime political transition approaches, adding that the rancour could be addressed since it was not about governorship.
6. A former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Nicholas Felix, has raised concerns that the party’s flag-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has frozen him out of his campaign ahead of the 2023 general election.
Felix’s outburst is coming three weeks after the convention that produced Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate.
