President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally requested the Senate’s confirmation for the appointment of 11 individuals as members of the governing board of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
This request was conveyed in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a recent plenary session. President Tinubu underscored the adherence to constitutional provisions in his call for Senate approval of these nominees.
Following the reading of the letter, the Senate president forwarded the presidential request to the Committee of the Whole for thorough screening.
Notably, President Tinubu had earlier instructed the withdrawal of the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam for the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of FERMA. However, this directive did not affect the appointments of other members to the Board and the Executive Management team of FERMA.
