The Progressives Governors’ Forum has declared their support for the combination of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima candidacy.
According to the forum, the duo will usher in the new Nigeria the people have been clamouring for.
The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu said this after he led some of the All Progressives Congress, APC Governors to pay homage to President Muhammadu Buhari at his Daura residence in Katsina State.
Speaking shortly after the closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the 8 Progressives Governors led by its Chairman, Atiku Bagudu, described the choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as the best option for the APC ahead of the Presidential elections.
According to him, Shettima is one of Nigeria’s finest who will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the governance of the nation, expressing confidence that the formidable tag team will usher in a new Nigeria.
He said the APC Governors are proud and have congratulated the president on the development, especially with the manner the primaries were held in the most transparent way leading to the emergence of Tinubu as the APC Presidential flag bearer.
The Progressives Governors’ Chairman, further added that the team will no doubt compliment the achievements and track records set by Buhari in the past 7 years, especially with the different policies put in place to protect the country from the impact of COVID-19 and ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
He said the APC Governors have resolved to work hard for the victory of the APC in both this weekend’s Osun State Governorship Election and that of the 2023 General Elections.
The State Governors who made the trip include Aminu Masari of Katsina, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Abubakar Bello of Niger, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Simon Lalong of Plateau and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa.
