Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
MC Oluomo was the sole candidate in the election, held on Saturday at the Union’s Zonal Secretariat along Osogbo/Ikirun Road in Osun State. Delegates from four South-West states—Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti—participated in the voting process.
Before his election as National President, MC Oluomo served as the chairman of the NURTW Lagos State Chapter.
In his remarks after taking the oath of office, MC Oluomo called for unity and peace within the union, stating, “I have forgiven everyone that offended me, and I hope those I may have offended will forgive me as well.”
He added, “This is our union, and we must remain committed to preserving it. We will not allow anyone to jeopardize our means of livelihood.”
