He worked for several reputable media organizations, including The Guardian newspaper, where he served as the Editor of the Saturday edition. He founded his own public relations agency, Dele Alake & Associates, which became one of the leading PR firms in Nigeria. Notably, he was the Director of Media and Strategy for the Action Congress (now All Progressives Congress – APC) during the 2007 general elections.

Special Adviser to Lagos State Government: Dele Alake served as the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Lagos State Government. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in managing the public image of the state government and communicating its policies and achievements to the public.
