On Monday, the Senate initiated the confirmation hearing for the ministerial nominees put forward by President Bola Tinubu. Senator Dave Umahi moved a motion to commence the process.
The previous week, President Tinubu submitted a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate for thorough screening.
The minister-designate list was conveyed to the Senate through Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Tinubu.
The list has stirred considerable controversy in different parts of the country.
Nevertheless, the Senate has now begun the process of evaluating and deciding whether to confirm or reject the nominees.
