In a significant announcement made during the 60th birthday anniversary lecture and presentation of two books on Leadership and Communication at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central), the Senate Leader, revealed that President Bola Tinubu’s much-anticipated list of ministerial nominees will be made available within the next 48 hours. To ensure an impartial decision-making process, President Tinubu has chosen to go into seclusion during this period, avoiding any undue influence.

The Senate, on its part, urges Nigerians to pray for President Tinubu, expressing hope that within the next 24 hours, he will make the right choices that will lead to a list of ministers that will bring satisfaction to the citizens.

Senator Bamidele shared, “Let me tell you, and you must encourage me; I need to make myself unavailable for the next 48 hours because a correspondence must come to the Senate, a very crucial correspondence. So Mr. President prayed for me. We should tell the rest of Nigerians to pray for me to be able to make the right decision within the next 24 hours so that when Nigerians hear the list of his ministers, they will say ‘yes…this is uncommon’, and join us to pray for Mr. President. He needed to be away from any kind of influence.”

It is worth recalling that President Tinubu, who was inaugurated on May 29, 2023, has until July 28 to submit his ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and subsequent confirmation in line with the 1999 Constitution as amended.
