Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has revealed why she avoids signing up-and-coming artistes.
In an interview with Forbes Africa, the 45-year-old singer explained that she does not have the patience to manage artistes, describing them as “stressful.”
“Everyone always asks when I will sign an artiste, but I don’t think I have that gift. I could just wake up, and my artiste is trending for the wrong reasons,” she said.
Instead, Tiwa expressed her desire to establish a music school where aspiring singers can develop their skills before signing with established labels.
“I have the gift to help, which is why I’m trying to have a music school where artistes can train and later sign to labels that can truly support them,” she added.
