Tochukwu Emmanuel: Man threatens mother with acid bath over paternity

A man,Tochukwu Emmanuel, has allegedly threatened to assault his mother with acid for refusing to tell him who his biological father is.

Mrs Christiana Okoye left her first husband with five children and got married again to another man in Isheri Olofin.

Her 27-year-old son Emmanuel recently discovered that the man whom he thought was his dad turned out not to be his biological father.

On two different occasions residents reported that Emmanuel tried to pour acid on his mother but neighbors’ intervened stopped him from carrying out his dire act.

It was gathered that the suspect recently tried to attack his mother again and a dog in the compound alerted neighbours who prevented him from entering the compound.

The Police at Idimu Division were informed of the situation and the suspect was subsequently arrested.

When he was arraigned,  Emmanuel pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan asked the court to adjourn the case to enable the police gather evidence that the suspect committed the crime.

The chief Magistrate, Mr. E.O. Ogunkanmi consequently adjourned the case till 23rd February, 2022, for mention.

Ogunkanmi granted the suspect a bail of 100,000 with two sureties. He was remanded in a correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions

Mrs Okoye was heard crying about the trauma she had suffered from her son’s actions while also revealing that she bought each of her children a plot of land including Emmanuel.
