  1. The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed April 10, 2025, to hear a suit filed by lawyer Johnmary Jideobi, challenging the constitutionality of Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas’s appointment as Sole Administrator of Rivers State. President Bola Tinubu, the Attorney General of the Federation, and others are named in the suit.

  2. Former GCEO of NNPC Limited, Mele Kyari, has officially handed over to his successor, Bayo Ojulari. The ceremony took place on Friday at the NNPC Towers, Abuja. Ojulari pledged to build on Kyari’s legacy and drive further reforms in the company.

  3. The APC has dismissed speculations suggesting that President Tinubu plans to replace Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027. Party spokesman Bala Ibrahim described the rumors as unfounded and “beer-parlour talk,” stressing that such decisions require wide consultation.

  4. Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has been cleared by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to contest in the party’s April 5 governorship primaries. Soludo is currently the sole aspirant and seeks a second term in office.

  5. Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, political adviser to the President, has reportedly resigned from his position. The former NEF spokesman’s resignation is yet to be officially confirmed by the presidency, but sources say it was submitted two weeks ago.

  6. A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and others from making media comments or granting interviews about an ongoing lawsuit. The court also prohibited livestreaming of the proceedings.

  7. A Bayelsa High Court has stopped a rally scheduled by associates of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Yenagoa. The order followed a motion filed by the Bayelsa Attorney General, halting the April 12 solidarity event organized by the NEW Associates group.

  8. The Supreme Court has nullified a previous judgment recognizing Julius Abure as Labour Party National Chairman, ruling that internal party leadership matters are not for the courts to decide. The court upheld an appeal filed by Senator Nenadi Usman and another party member.

  9. UEFA has handed Real Madrid players Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger suspended one-match bans over their conduct after a Champions League win against Atletico Madrid. The ban is under probation for a year following what UEFA termed “indecent celebrations.”

  10. Comedian Ijoba Lande has accused actress Funke Akindele of paying him only ₦90,000 after working for one month on her movie set. He also described her as unapproachable and advised upcoming entertainers to demand fair pay for their work.
