  1. President Bola Tinubu swore in seven new ministers at the Council Chambers in Abuja, following a recent cabinet reshuffle aimed at addressing calls for change.

  2. The new ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Labour & Employment), Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State Foreign Affairs), Dr. Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade and Investment), Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (State Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad (State Education).

  3. In his speech during the swearing-in ceremony, President Tinubu expressed determination to lead Nigeria towards prosperity, emphasizing that “the ship of Nigeria will not sink” despite current challenges.

  4. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticized the Tinubu administration’s economic strategies, stating that their only effective plan has been a national prayer, and he suggested that the current policies are erratic and untested.

  5. President Tinubu has directed the immediate release of all minors detained during the #EndBadGovernance protests and called for investigations into the actions of law enforcement officials involved in their detention.

  6. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirmed the arrest of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over allegations of diverting N1.3 trillion from the federation account.

  7. President Tinubu acknowledged the rising cost of living affecting Nigerians but assured that his administration is committed to alleviating their suffering, including the implementation of a new minimum wage of ₦70,000.

  8. The Sultan of Sokoto urged Nigerians to refrain from criticizing their leaders and to instead pray for their guidance and the nation’s wellbeing.

  9.  Finance Minister Wale Edun expressed confidence that Nigeria’s economy is improving due to reforms introduced by President Tinubu, which include removing fuel subsidies and floating the foreign exchange rate.

  10. The All Progressives Congress (APC) responded to Atiku Abubakar’s proposals by claiming he would revert to policies that previously failed Nigeria, asserting that these ideas contributed to the economic challenges the current administration is addressing.
