  1. President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shamsedeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the new Accountant General of the Federation. Ogunjimi’s appointment, effective 7th March 2025, follows a rigorous, merit-based process including written assessments, ICT tests, and oral interviews, underscoring a commitment to transparency and excellence in public service.

  2. The federal government has launched the Treasury Management and Revenue Assurance System (TMRAS), a new revenue collection platform designed to integrate Remita with other approved Payment Solution Service Providers. This move aims to enhance treasury revenue assurance and improve budget performance across all ministries and agencies.

  3. Former Immigration Comptroller General, David Shikfu Parradang, was discovered dead in his hotel room at Joy House Hotel, Abuja, after receiving a female visitor.
