Fulham’s central defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, is on the brink of a move to Ligue 1 side, Monaco as he has reached an agreement over personal terms with the French club.
Monaco is eager to bolster their central defense, with Axel Disasi set to join Chelsea. The club has already secured a €45 million (£38.7 million) deal for the France international.
While Tottenham Hotspur has expressed interest in Adarabioyo, the 25-year-old has made his preference for Monaco clear this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Adarabioyo has now agreed in principle to personal terms with the Ligue 1 outfit. Finalizing the transfer now lies in the hands of the two clubs, as Monaco continues talks with Fulham over the transfer fee. The French club has already tabled a £4.2 million bid for the former Manchester City academy player.
Monaco is optimistic about concluding the deal swiftly, and there’s a possibility that the transfer could be completed by the end of the week.
Having spent three years at Craven Cottage, Adarabioyo is set to bid farewell to Fulham, having made 107 appearances across all competitions. He played a vital role in Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League in the 2021-22 season and featured in 25 Premier League games last season, contributing to the club’s 10th-place finish.
As Adarabioyo prepares to depart, Fulham has already bolstered their defense with the signing of Calvin Bassey from Ajax in a €21 million (£18 million) deal. The Nigeria international made his debut for the club in the Premier League Summer Series match against Chelsea, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the West London side.
